Insulated glass unit that has a low-e coating on the #2 surface designed to provide some heat rejection in the summer and heat retention in the winter. While a good investment and now required in all residential construction since 2003, the typical builder grade low-e glass provides for approximately ½ of typical heat rejection of solar control window films and does not address UV or glare reduction.
